Competition Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply for Marty & Erica’s Battle of the Sexes
1. Duration
The competition will run anywhere between 6.00am and 9.00am from Monday, 29th September 2008 through until Friday, 12th December 2008 during the Marty and Erica Breakfast Show.
The competition will run weekdays only between the hours and dates as specified above, excluding public holidays.
i98 FM reserve the right to post pone or forfeit the competition at any time during this period, at their discretion, and no correspondence will be entered into.
2. Method of Entry
Each morning during the competition times, the announcers ‘Marty and Erica’ will encourage one (1) male and one female (1) listener to be the nominated caller through to i98 FM competition line (02) 4226 9898 to play Battle of the Sexes ‘entrants’.
3. Judging
Once the entrants are selected as outlined in Clause 2, ‘Marty and Erica’ will flip a coin to decide which contestant will be asked the first question.
Once this has been decided Marty and Erica will alternately ask the male caller female skewed questions and the female caller male skewed questions in sequence, as ascertained by the toss of the coin.
The contestant to get the most questions out of three (3) correct will be deemed that days major prize winner. If there is a draw, a tie - breaker question will be asked and the caller to correctly answer the question first will be deemed the major prize winner.
The major prize winner will be given the choice of taking the prize money as it stands OR they can opt to risk their prize money and play the following weekday and jackpot their prize money with a further one hundred dollars ($100), hereby known as the ‘carry over champion’. If the carry over champion loses the daily competition, at any point, they forfeit all their prize money accrued, and will only receive that day’s nominated consolation prize.
The carry over champion can be invited to come back and play for a maximum of ten weekdays straight, if they are still the champion after ten (10) consecutive wins, they will retire as the carry over champion and take their total earned prize money.
The judging will take place on air at the i98 FM Studios, with the i98 Breakfast Team judging the competition.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. Eligibility
Any person who wishes to enter Marty and Erica’s Battle of the Sexes MUST be over sixteen (16) years of age. I98fm has the right to refuse competition entry to any person who is under this age.
5. Prizes
All prize values are recommended retail value provided by the supplier, are in Australian Dollars and are correct at time of printing.
No contestant can be a major prize winner or carry over champion more than once within a one (1) month, thirty (30) day, period from date of winning.
Minor Prizes
55 x minor prizes valued to a maximum $30 per minor prize
Total Minor Prize Pool 55 x $30
= $1,650
Major Prize/s
The major prize winner each day will be rewarded with $50 (fifty) dollars cash as outlined in Clause 3. If the major prize winner opts to return as the ‘carry over champion’ and consequently loses, they forfeit all prize money accrued and will be rewarded with one (1) nominated minor prize only.
Total potential prize pool of 55 x $50
= $ 2,750
All major and minor prize winners will be required to pick up their prize from i98FM reception at Television Avenue, Mt St Thomas, Wollongong, NSW, 2500 during working hours Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm only.
Cheque may take up to fifteen (15) working days to be drawn.
6. Notification
All prizewinner’s will be notified by announcement ‘on air’ as specified in clause 3 above.
Winner’s details may be published.
7. Employees and their immediate families of WIN Radio Pty Ltd, WIN Corporation Pty Limited and Pyrah Insurance Group are ineligible to enter.
8. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned including but not limited to technical failures, unauthorized intervention, computer virus, mobile phone failures, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of WIN Radio Pty Ltd which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, i98 FM reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel terminate modify or suspend the competition.
9. The Promoter (i98FM) is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems of the phone or of any phone network, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person's phone related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this competition.
10. The Promoter (i98FM) collects entrants' personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter (i98FM) may use this information to request permission from the entrant to use the information for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes. Entrants' personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners' names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the i98FM at Television Avenue, Mt St Thomas, Wollongong, NSW, 2500.
