The following terms and conditions apply for "Ibis Secret Sound" competition
1. Duration
The competition will run anywhere between 6.00am and 5.00pm from Monday, 8th September 2008 through until Friday, 26th September 2008. However, if the ‘secret sound’ is guessed any time between the specified dates (above) then the competition will cease.
The competition will run weekdays only between the hours and dates as specified above, excluding public holidays.
i98 FM reserve the right to post pone or forfeit the competition at any time during this period, at their discretion, and no correspondence will be entered into.
2. Method of Entry
The announcer will play the ‘secret sound’ at random times throughout the day and give listeners the cue to call the studio on the i98 competition line 4226 9898.
3. Judging
It is up to the announcer’s discretion as to what lines they pick up when the phones begin to ring. The nominated callers can be altered during different contest spots. The person on the other end of the line that the announcer picks up will be that hour’s contestant(s). The announcer will take two (2) callers during each contest hour.
To be deemed the major prize winner, the contestant must guess exactly what the secret sound is. For example, if the secret sound is ‘ice being dropped into an empty glass’ then this will need to be what is described to the announcer during contesting. An answer along the lines of ‘Is it something being put into a glass’ ‘or ‘Is it ice being dropped into a glass of water’. Will be deemed as incorrect as they do not describe the precise way in which the secret sound was made.
The i98fm announcers will not be told what the secret sound is. During contesting, an i98fm official (who knows what the secret sound is) will sit in the studio with the i98fm announcer and preside over contesting. That person will be the judge of what will and won’t be accepted as a correct answer.
The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. Eligibility
Any person who wishes to enter the Ibis Secret Sound competition MUST be over eighteen (18) years of age. i98fm has the right to refuse competition entry to any person who is under this age.
No contestant can be a major prizewinner more than once within a one (1) month, thirty (30) day, period from date of winning.
5. Prizes
All prize values are recommended retail value provided by the supplier, are in Australian Dollars and are correct at time of printing.
Major Prize
There is only one major prize for this competition. Once the secret sound is guessed, the competition will cease.
The major prizewinner will be rewarded with twelve (12) x two (2) night accommodation vouchers for use at the Hotel Ibis located at 74 Church Street in Wollongong, NSW.
Accommodation is subject to availability. Vouchers are based on two (2) adults sharing for a two (2) night stay. Vouchers valid until 30th June 2009 and cannot be used consecutively (i.e., on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday night). The vouchers are not redeemable for cash.
The winner must adhere to any other terms and conditions of use for their accommodation vouchers as specified by the Hotel Ibis Wollongong. I98fm will not be held responsible for any bookings / availability of rooms for the prize winner.
Total prize value = $ 4,000.00
The major prize winner will be required to pick up their prize from i98FM reception at Television Avenue, Mt St Thomas, Wollongong, NSW, 2500 during working hours Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm only.
6. Notification
The prizewinner will be notified by announcement ‘on air’ when they correctly guess the secret sound as specified in clause 3 above. The competition will cease immediately after the secret sound is guessed. Winner’s details may be published.
7. Employees and their immediate families of WIN Radio Pty Ltd, WIN Corporation Pty Limited and the Hotel Ibis are ineligible to enter.
8. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned including but not
limited to technical failures, unauthorized intervention, computer virus, mobile phone failures, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of WIN Radio Pty Ltd which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, i98 FM reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel terminate modify or suspend the competition.
9. The Promoter (i98FM) is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems of the phone or of any phone network, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person's phone related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this competition.
10. The Promoter (i98FM) collects entrants' personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter (i98FM) may use this information to request permission from the entrant to use the information for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes. Entrants' personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners' names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the i98FM at Television Avenue, Mt St Thomas, Wollongong, NSW, 2500.
